Position: Retail Sales Lead

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Curates a positive customer experience to all customers in the retail store through product/ inventory knowledge, community and tourism, enthusiasm and hospitality
  • Professionally addresses customer needs and resolves issues, ensuring positive and long-term customer relationships that keeps our customers returning year after year
  • Anticipate customer needs, assist them in finding a gift, making a recommendation for a local restaurant or local experience; utilize active listening and curiosity 
  • Being a brand ambassador through storytelling, product knowledge, recommending sister shops and positively representing the shops in all interactions 
  • Owns and drives ongoing projects to successful completion (e.g. sustainability initiatives, finding new vendors and supporting local artists, etc.)
  • Demonstrating a high level of organization in ensuring inventory is fulfilled, organized, and labeled; Monitoring and proactively notifying leadership of refills as needed
  • Ensures inventory data is correct by performing spot inventory counts and checks
  • Fulfilling website orders, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and standards are met
  • Occasionally supporting marketing and social media efforts; website updates products/photos, writing product descriptions, product photography
  • Training and mentoring sales associates, inspiring team members through our values, standards, and love for Colorado
  • Ensures register monies are filled regularly or drawer is replaced when full in a timely manner, counting and confirming drawer is balanced
  • Ensures that the store always looks clean and inviting; demonstrating care for the shop and all who walk through our doors
  • Strategically places and rotates merchandise to attract positive attention from customers
  • Proactively stock shelves as merchandise sells to ensure that all purchasing options are available to guests
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 2 years of retail experience highly preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing, maneuvering the store
  • Unpacking and unloading boxes, stocking shelves at various heights
  • Assembling displays, moving products
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds
  • Bending and repetitive motion

About Our Employee Housing

Current Status: Occupied/Unavailable

- 2 bed/1 bath
- $1,900/month utilities are not included
- Must work a minimum of 30 hours per week at Copper Mtn Mercantile through the end of April to be eligible. (Work can be seasonal or long-term depending on the situation.)
- 1st month's rent and security deposit needed before moving in ($3,800 total)
- month-to-month lease
- Well-behaved pets will be considered
- The unit is located in Copper Mountain Center Village and within walking distance from the lifts and our shop. This unit is generally best suited for two friends or a couple. It is freshly remodeled and has all new appliances and a brand-new washer and dryer inside the unit! It is fully furnished and move-in ready.
